It is a miserable place that consists of treacherous cliffs in the north and west, and bogs and swamps in the east and south.<br /> <br /> Unknown to most, there are two settlements on the island, pirate villages and ports. Those who prey on the trade routes along the coast to the north found a safe harbour on Akemenania, far enough away from the mainland - more than 70 kilometres to the nearest point near the mouth of the [[Lyskirk]] river - to not be bothered by patrols or warships, yet still within striking distance - just 4-5 hours on a fast ship.<br /> <br /> While officially claimed by Sila, no official settlement efforts were ever made.
