The Creufels are a noble house from central Vericum, who have ruled over the region that is Meracia today from the days of Anzaro. They control the Ampia Mine from Castle Ampia, around which the town of Ampia has grown.
During the Founding of the Empire and the restructuring of the following years, the Creufels officially added the port town of Vanos to their domain, a fact that their neighbours from whom it was taken, the Durenachs have not forgotten to this day. Anzaro in fact had held the port for fifty years prior to that, but only by military force. The Durenachs had to give up their claim to the town during the Founding, which only deepened the already existing rivalry between the two families.
