The Maldon is the longest river within the Western Grasslands, and the main connection between Hanzatia and the western ocean coast. Three important cities of Palan, Kaderwa, Mekezisi and Mugyororo, are located along the Maldon river.
Near its mouth, the river is wide and shallow, and its importance for trade is based on the fact that almost its entire length is navigable. Downwards from the merging with the Kambe river, the size of boats capable of using the river is large enough to be commercially important.
