Traits are talents or strengths of a character that are not easily represented as an ability. They grant unique advantages to certain actions or activities.
Traits are bought with character points. Note that it is the number of traits that determines the cost. See Advancement for details.
If a trait is ever removed from the character for any reason, move all traits listed below it up by one line, so that there are no empty lines between traits.
When you push yourself during a physical action, you gain +2 dice instead of +1 die.
You are especially good at protecting others. When using the Stress > Protect action, you add +1 die to your Resistance Rolls > resistance roll if you choose to resist the consequence.
When there’s a question about who acts first, the answer is you. This trait gives you the initiative in most situations.
Heal faster during downtime - +1 die to the physical roll when taking the Downtime Activities > Recover.
Once per adventure, you can make a fortune roll (1d6) and clear stress as follows: On a bad outcome: none. On a partial success: 1 box, on a full success: 2 boxes, on a critical success: 3 boxes.
You gain a third Downtime Activities > downtime activity.
You possess a magical item that can cause a specific effect chosen when buying this trait 3 times per adventure (charges refresh automatically during downtime). The effect has an effect magnitude of great.
You have an animal, spirit, elemental or other companion. It follows you around and is loyal like a good dog. It can understand simple commands and will usually follow them.
You are a noble, though a lesser one unless you also have the "Land & Title" trait. No matter your economic means, you enjoy the privileges and rights of the noble class.
(must have Nobility first)
You are not just nobility, but hold land and title. This gives you a steady income. During downtime, roll a fortune die (1d6) for income as if you were working. This does not take up a downtime activity.
If you are away from your lands, your income arrives by courier. If you are in a location not easily reachable, it will accumulate until you are.
In addition to the economic benefits, you also have the privilege of being known among your peers. Your holdings can also provide both benefits and challenges as the GM decides.
