	Built as a frontier ~~town~~, capital of its province and military stronghold, the ~~town~~ has suffered through several bad winters and a disastrous outbreak of plague a century ago, and it has never recovered. While still formally the seat of the local government, the expansion into elven territory has been halted by the fierce resistance of the [[Oujda]] elves and common folks have never quite resettled in Nanalanda. Two thirds of the ~~town~~ stand empty and ruined, with buildings falling apart or being used for spare parts.
