Tenus Castle used to be a vital strategic point, but first the demolishion of the [[Old Ampia-Volgen Road]] eastern part during [[The Century of War]] and then the construction of the [[Imperial High Road]] bypassing [[Tenus]] and Tenus Castle have reduced its importance.
