Tenus Castle overlocks the confluence of the Kordera and Kermaloryme rivers. It lies at the northern shore, at the edge of the Tenus village. The Old Ampia-Volgen Road passes nearby.
Tenus Castle used to be a vital strategic point, but first the demolishion of the Old Ampia-Volgen Road eastern part during The Century of War and then the construction of the Imperial High Road bypassing Tenus and Tenus Castle have reduced its importance.
Nevertheless, it remains an impressive fortification and the traditional home of the heir of Detanie, until he becomes Earl of Acebdenia, at which point the castle is passed on either to his son if he is old enough, or the second oldest brother.
