Awaran is small town in central Akingea in Palan with a population of about 800.
Awaran lies at the river Maldon and within a day's journey to the local capital, Mekezisi. As such, most traders pass it by, and the steep banks of the river in this location, where the Maldon cuts into the hilly land, does not provide for a good port location.
