Rafintino castle is an ancient fortification guarding the western approach towards Fontico, both along the river Tokley and by road. It also guards the bridge over the Tokley.
The castle was originally built in 588 BV, with major expansions added between 270 and 262 BV. It has again be expanded between 40 AV and 50 AV, after the conquest of Ezland by Schap brought the castle much closer to the border than before.
Today, the castle houses between 120 and 150 people at most times, but it can have twice as many stationed additionally when needed. Located directly at the river and with two seperate wells, it is at all times kept supplied for a year-long siege.
