Olmicas
From Dragon Eye Atlas
Olmicas is a giant fortress at the coast of the Hampy enclave of Gwan, Gwang and Sasan. It is of obviously ancient origin and most of it is not just ruined but broken and overgrown.
All evidence points to Olmicas having been an important strategic location, maybe even a capital, in Pandongia, probably located on a mountain or hilltop. In fact, the shape of the fortress points to another part of it having broken off the cliff and sunken under the ocean, and adventurers occasionally search for the sunken parts of the fortress, hoping to find treasures.
The fortress is three kilometres in diameter and large enough to contain an entire town and a large military garrison. Sixteen towers can still be identified, though none are left higher than three floors and it is unclear how high they may have been at one time, but three of them are so massive at the base that scholars and historians assume that they must have been six floors tall at the least. At least twelve more towers are assumed to have existed at one time, but have been reduced to rubble.
The wall of Olmicas is still standing in many places, though broken and fallen. Some parts are still around ten metres, and the wall may at one point have been more than 20 metres tall.
Olmicas is today located in a swamp, and its basements are flooded or filled with mud. From time to time, adventuring parties search the ruins for treasures, but despite rumours of undiscovered underground levels or towers not yet opened and explored, at least in the past century none returned with tales of riches.
Some parts of the ruins can be clearly seen from the trade routes near the coast, but the cliffs are too steep to allow for a landing or approach from the sea, and adventurers wanting to explore the fortress must land several kilometres away at best, and climb up a cliff side, or land about 12 km away and treck through the swamp.
