Gunsanguk, often called simply "Gunsa" by locals and foreigners alike, is the dominant province of the islands of Makkaha, covering over 80% of both area and population. It belongs to the republic of Hampy, but is as close to Sila as it is to the main island.
Most of the province is forested, sometimes light and sometimes densely. Most of the forest is tropical rainforest, though both seasonal tropical forest and temperate rainforest exist in places. About a fifth of the land is wetlands, mostly marshes and swamps, most of it along the northern coast.
