Akingea is a small province in northern Palan, located in the center of the Western Grasslands. The Maldon river is the lifeline of the area, with the forests growing along its course providing for much of the local economy. Even though only a quarter of Akingeas land area is covered by forest (about half/half deciduous and temperate rainforests), all of its towns and many of its villages are located near the river or its smaller tributaries, the Kamenyi and the Muda.
Both culturally and religiously, Akingea is Kiswaili.
